Growing Your Plant -- Instructions

  1. 1. When you get home, put your sand in a cup saucer, or small shallow dish.
  2. 2. Tomorrow- Take a fork, and poke your fork into the bottom of your styrofoam cup.
  3. 3. This helps the plant to breath and protect from root rot.
  4. 4. You can poke the fork on the bottom twice so your roots can breath and water can drain.
  5. 5. Do not overwater. Keep your dirt moist. Water a little daily..about 2 teaspoons of water.
  6. 6. Your plant is planted in its own mini greenhouse now -
  7. 7. To keep your plant organic use only water.
  8. 8. Keep your plant in a sunny place.
  9. 9. Keep your plastic bag loosely tented over your plant...this acts as a little greenhouse.
  10. 10. Once your plant has grown so that it is to the top of your planting marker - you can take off your plastic.
  11. 11. After your plant is 5 to 6 inches...transplant into a final larger pot.
  12. 12. Don't forget to share your plant's produce with the Second Harvest Food Bank :)
